Torino vs Udinese

Saturday’s fixtures of GW 29 prove for interesting viewing with no teams in the top 8 playing. The mid table clash between Udinese and Torino will likely provide the best viewing. With Udinese sitting in 13th and Torino in 11th both teams will be looking to solidify their mid table positions in the league.

Udinese have been in considerably better form, with 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss in their last 5. Torino on the other hand have only won 1 in their last 5, drawing 2 and losing the other 2. The reverse fixture proved a stalemate, a 1-1 draw so fans of both sides will be hopeful of gaining an upper edge this time around.

Keep an eye out for Torino’s Duvan Zapata who has been on fine goalscoring form with 10 Serie goals to his name this season. Udinese will also need to neutralise the right hand threat of Raul Bellanova. Who has been in good form and recorded the most assists for Torino this season, as he’s been utilised as a right midfielder/wingback.

Torino will be looking to keep forward Lorenzo Lucca quiet as he is the sides main man, recording 7 goals and 3 assists, if Torino can keep him quiet then Udinese will have to look to other less effective attacking outlets.

Torino have lost just one of their last 6 Serie A meetings with Udinese, this defeat coming away from home in February 2022.

In the league this season both these sides have recorded the most draws in the competition- Udinese 15 and Torino 11. So don’t be surprised if the sides find themselves in another stalemate come the end of 90 mins.

Quote of the week

In football, the only thing that matters is who wins: winners are the ones who remain in history. You don’t remember the beaten finalists, you remember the ones who lifted the trophy.
