This last week has seen the confirmation of a number of big transfers. With young talent on the move as well as some big stars set to debut in the Serie A. This article will cover all the big transfer news this week.
Matias Soulé joins Roma.

Roma have completed the signing of promising youngster Matias Soulé from Juventus for a reported €30 million. He has undergone a medical and issued social media posts saying goodbye to his former club.
This is a huge transfer for the Giallorossi. Soulé had a superb season at Frosinone and was the team’s undoubted best player. Soulé plays off the right wing; however, he can also be utilized more centrally in the 10. While he lacks raw pace, his quick feet and dribbling ability make him a nightmare for defenders. This transfer is the second for Danielle De Rossi’s side, with Enzo Le Fee also joining as a creative, playmaking central midfielder. De Rossi is clearly trying to implement and sign more offensive players. With the loss of striker Romelu Lukaku (Napoli bound) and the defense and backline looking set, De Rossi’s attention right now seems fully on making Roma more dangerous going forward.
Another huge potential signing for the Giallorossi is Artem Dovbyk of Girona. The striker had an incredible season at Girona, netting 24 times in La Liga. While he didn’t have the best Euros, his quality and goal threat last season are clear, especially when compared to two top Serie A strikers below.

The numbers speak for themselves, and if Roma can secure the Ukrainian’s signature, then the loss of Lukaku will likely not be as significant. With Tammy Abraham back fit, Soulé joining, and the potential arrival of Dovbyk, expect Roma to be an attacking force next season.
Varane Joins Como 1907
You read that right. Four-time Champions League winner, Real Madrid and Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has joined Como 1907, a side that has been in Serie B for 21 years. What. A. Signing.
As you can see in the TikTok, I love it. For a player of Varane’s quality to be going to a newly promoted side in Serie A is massive. If he stays fit, Varane is likely to be one of the best center-backs in the league. While Varane did have links to the Saudi League, Fabrizio Romano exclusively reported throughout the whole saga that Varane was always going to Como.
This is a huge transfer both for Como and for football. For a superstar like Varane to choose a smaller side like Como, who languished in Serie B for 21 years, over sides offering millions of pounds a week in contracts is a statement. Though, who wouldn’t want to raise a family on Lake Como while working under one of the most underrated players of our generation, Cesc Fábregas?

Como is making other moves in the market in a bid to avoid relegation. Not only have they brought in Varane, but they have also confirmed the signings of Belotti, Moreno, and Pepe Reina. All these signings show Como’s intent to bring in experienced, seasoned players who still have the quality to perform and help secure safety next season.
Huijsen joins Bournemouth

Another promising Juventus player has moved away. Dean Huijsen, who for the last year has been tipped as one of Serie A’s most promising young centre-backs, has completed a move to Bournemouth with a contract valid until 2030. The fee is low, only €15 million, and Juventus have let another promising young centre-back go after De Winter completed a permanent move to Genoa.
Juventus are clearly raising funds. Selling academy players such as Huijsen, Soulé, and De Winter means that all the money raised can go to help support the Thiago Motta rebuild. With Todibo looking close and Koopmeiners still in the works, it is understandable why Huijsen was sold.
That being said, the sale of Huijsen has sparked a divide in the Juventus fanbase, with many fans angry at the sale of such a promising youngster. Bournemouth have once again nailed a centre-back signing. A backline that includes Zabarnyi, Kerkez, Huijsen, and Senesi is excellent and extremely underrated. With Huijsen’s ball-playing abilities and ball-carrying skills, he is a perfect modern centre-back. Juventus let a good one go, that’s for sure.
AC Milan sign Strahinja Pavlović from Salzburg
AC Milan are set to sign Strahinja Pavlović from RB Salzburg for a reported €18 million. The centre back has had a rocky start to his career, a move to Monaco as a hotly tipped 19 year old, never worked out. Then a number of poor loan moves meant the Serbian has found himself at RB Salzburg, however he has been a mainstay in Serbia’s national team. And after a good season at Salzburg, impressing in the Champions League and teams such as Inter Milan and a Euro’s where he caught the eye for his no-nonsense defending the 23 year old is set to be the newest addition for manager Paulo Fonesca.
