Part 1 of this article highlighted several players to watch during the Euros. With Euro fever in full swing and the first game less than six hours away- and over 80 players from Serie A called up. This article focuses on some young Serie A stars who have the chance to break out this Euros.

Noah Okafor and Dan Ndoye

Now, I have chosen to write about two players, Noah Okafor and Dan Ndoye, as both have a great chance to become stars in Switzerland’s front line. With a serious lack of goal threat and main striker Breel Embolo missing most of the 23/24 season due to injury, Switzerland’s attack is in need of revitalisation. The front line is aging, and Okafor and Ndoye have the opportunity to inject some much-needed youth and energy into the team. Both have a chance to make their mark for Switzerland.

AC Milan’s Noah Okafor has had a solid start to life in Italy. Since moving to Milan from RB Salzburg in the summer, the Swiss player has made 28 appearances, mostly off the bench with 22 substitute appearances. While he has only recorded six league goals, Okafor will be looking to make his mark either off the bench or out wide, as he has shown his versatility for the Rossoneri.

Dan Ndoye, on the other hand, is likely to start most games for Switzerland on the wing. His directness and pace will be a stark contrast to Shaqiri, who is expected to start on the opposite wing. The 23-year-old had a great end to the season for Bologna, becoming a key component in their famous Champions League qualification finish. Ndoye is likely to start, and if he can put in a good performance at the Euros for a sturdy Swiss side that sometimes lacks the flair and threat required to go far in tournaments, he may catch the eye of people outside Italy.

In Part 1, I spoke about Hakan Çalhanoğlu, who is likely to be key for Turkey. However, another Serie A player could be vital in Turkey’s bid to avoid repeating their Euro 2020 performance: Kenan Yildiz. The Juventus forward has been tipped as one of the best attacking prospects in the league, and his call-up alongside other young talents such as Arda Güler furthers the hype around him. Yildiz is in contention to start on the wing or in any of the forward positions for Turkey, as his raw talent and versatility make him effective anywhere across the front line.

He featured 27 times in Serie A, although he didn’t play a full 90-minute game, and while only recording three goal contributions, many fans of The Old Lady were calling for him to feature more alongside the likes of Chiesa and Vlahovic. Yildiz could be the young star that Turkey needs to get out of Group F. All things considered, Turkey should progress out of the group, so keep an eye on Kenan Yildiz as a hot prospect this Euros

Nicola Zalewski

Nicola Zalewski is a personal favorite of mine, solely because of how good he is on Football Manager. However, the Roma player also has the chance to feature prominently for a Polish side looking to make it out of a tough group. Zalewski has joined a cohort of players who have played all across Europe for some of the best teams. Lewandowski, Zielinski, Szczesny, and Kiwior all play for top teams in Europe, and Zalewski joins this list after a season with Roma where his versatility saw him play across various positions on the pitch.Zalewski has typically been deployed down the left-hand side of the pitch, from left-back to left-wing. However, due to being right-footed (while just as good with his left), he has also featured on the right wing, both offensively and defensively. Due to good performances from loanee Angeliño and El Shaarawy, he has seen limited minutes, mainly off the bench.

In this Euros, he is likely to play in a more advanced role, and Polish fans will be looking for his attacking prowess rather than his defensive skills. This tournament is a “last dance” for Poland, with it set to be the last for their greatest ever player, Lewandowski. Zalewski has the perfect opportunity to impress De Rossi and establish himself in the Roma side, especially with Angeliño’s loan expiring and El Shaarawy and Spinazzola aging. Will he take that chance?
